[Verse 1]
Lump in my throat
I turn and I go
Only thing I control
Is how I let go
I swear the pain is all growth
The songs that I wrote
Oh, you reap what you sow
You waited, but I never came back
You waited, but I never came

[Verse 2]

I say you’re so unbelievable, but actually I believed you
I thought it would hurt, but actually it was good to see you
‘Cause I know how you operate and now I really see you
I got nostalgic once or twice, but I’m gonna be okay
You said you’re scared I got hurt
But I see you wearing my shirt
What’s done is done, will never be reversed (Never be, never be)
So where did I go? You waited, but I never came back

[Chorus]
I never came back, mm
You waited, but I never came back
Waited, but I never came back, mm
You waited, but I never came

[Verse 3]
I fell so deep
At first, I lost sleep from it
But week after week
I felt more at peace
I didn’t, now I feel free
So free that I flew
Yeah, you’re talking to ghosts

[Chorus]

You waited, but I never came back
Never came back, mm
You waited, but I never came back, mm
You waited, but I never came

[Bridge]
Tell me how hard was it for you, baby?
How hard was it for you, baby?
How hard was it for you, baby?
How hard?
Is it still on your mind?
Does it weigh on your heart?
Does it weigh on your heart? Yeah

[Chorus]
You waited, but I never came back
I never came back, mm
Never came, never came back
You waited, but I never came back

[Outro]
No, I never came, never came back, oh
