[Intro]
Ayy, that was way before
Ayy, that was way before
Ayy, that was way before
Ayy, that was way before

[Chorus]
We used to have fun
When we were on the move, yeah
I thought about us, but you thought about (Girl, you thought about)
Before you thought about, (Us) you thought about you, yeah
It’s all about

It’s all about you, yeah

[Verse 1]
No distance, we would talk, I felt your feelings more
I miss the way I thought about you (Uh)
We’d call and stay up late, before we needed space
It’s cold here in my place without you (Uh)
(Baby, yeah, you know that, yeah)

[Post-Chorus]
Ayy, that was way beforе
Ayy, that was way before
Ayy, that was way beforе
Ayy, that was way before

[Verse 2]
Way before your friends chimed in and started bashing me
That was way back when y’all were just fans of me, way before
Did you tell ’em why you called that night? (Uh)
I bet you didn’t, girl, you’re wrong, that’s right (Uh)
Then you hopped up on a long ass flight
Went to see him do his thing, but your heart’s on ice
Oh, don’t do it to him
Please, girl, you know it’s not nice
Only you know what I mean, it’s a cold ass life

It’s a cold ass life, ask about it
We can’t even talk for real, ’cause you just dance around it
I was sad when we broke up, I went to France about it
You can play it how you want, you know the facts, but I won’t
Get into it now, that’s really not my style
Spend a hunnid in Japan, do whatever I’m allowed
They don’t really understand, but they really love my sound
How’d it get so out of hand? We can’t seem to work this out

[Pre-Chorus]
It’s a shame that it has to be like this

[Chorus]
We used to have fun
When we were on the move, yeah
I thought about us, but you thought about (Before you thought about)
You thought about you, yeah
It’s all about
It’s all about you, yeah

[Post-Chorus]
Ayy, that was way before
Ayy, that was way before
Ayy, that was way before
Ayy, that was way before

[Verse 3]
Way before our expectations started maxing out
Way before, when I could tell a joke and actually laugh with you
Way before, ayy (That was way before, ayy, that was way before)
Way before you took it everywhere and started crashing out
Way before you ever knew about me, so you’d ask around
Way before, ayy, that was way before, ayy, that was way before
Way before, when you could talk to me without lashing out
Way before you put me on the spot and started cashing out
Way before, that was way before, ayy, that was way before
Way before you’d expect things you didn’t ask of me
Way before your older brother ever shook hands with me
Way before, ayy, that was way before, ayy, that was way before

[Pre-Chorus]
It’s a shame that it has to be like this

[Chorus]
We used to have fun
When we were on the move, yeah
I thought about us, but
You thought about
Before you thought about
You thought about you, yeah
It’s all about
It’s all about you, yeah

[Outro]
That was way before
Ayy, that was way before
That was way before
Ayy, that was way before
