[Verse 1]
You painted your borders with a heavy hand
Told us your garden was the only promised land
With a golden picket fence built of broken teeth
And a shallow, shallow grave hiding underneath
You whispered to the cameras, “we are the light”
While you were dimming every star in the dead of night
Now the velvet curtains are starting to fray
And the monsters you fed are coming out to play

[Chorus]
Oh, the Promised Land is burning at the seams

Waking up the neighbors from their stolen dreams
The bill is coming due, written out in ink
You pushed us to the edge, now watch yourself sink
Did you think the silence was a sign of consent?
We were just counting up every cent you spent
On the chaos, the panic, the crown you wear
Now the whole world is finally, finally staring at you there

[Verse 2]
Your statues are crumbling, losing their nose
They look so pathetic in their royal clothes
The propaganda song is skipping on the track
The world isn’t turning, it’s pushing you back
You hold a mirror up but you can’t look inside
There’s nowhere left for a tyrant to hide
The echoes of the victims are loud in the street
They’re marching to the rhythm of your own defeat

[Bridge]
It’s not a revolution, it’s just the truth
The ugly little secret from your hollow youth
You thought you were a god in a concrete cage
But you’re just the villain on the final page
The ink is drying, the paper is thin
Is this the paradise you wanted to win?

[Outro]
No more promises
No more land
Just the blood washing off of your hand
Just the truth
Yeah, you’re finally caught
This is the silence that you bought
