[Verse 1]
A compass made from his wet little nose
He barked at slanted woods where no man goes
I whistled for him up until I saw it
Something glowing deeper in like a star had fallen

[Chorus]
Both gone-wild dogs
We bled through fog
Chasing the glowing in the distance
I slipped between
Two leaning trees
And fell out of existence

[Verse 2]
I lived an eternity as an ink blot
Phthalo green on the sleeve of your paint smock
Thousand years, a thousand works unfinished
You couldn’t place it, always felt like something’s missing
From the remnants of someonе upon your eyelids
An outline lost thе minute that they’re open
You try to paint to life this strange lost vision
You’ll try and try again until it’s perfect

[Chorus]
I slipped between
Two leaning trees
And fell out of existence
From history
From memory
Blotted by cosmic omission

[Bridge]
From this slanted place outside
I watch you paint a face
Impossibly that face is mine
Hmm

Who is this? Nobody knows
But you trace my lips
Your pupils glow
I chase the glowing home

[Chorus]
Both gone-wild dogs
We bled through fog
Chasing the glowing in the distance
I slipped between
Two leaning trees
And fell out of existence
From history
From memory
Blotted by cosmic omission
In phthalo green
By your hand’s instinct
Love left me unforgotten

[Outro]
A bell rings as my compass calls me home
And I emerge from slanted woods where no man goes
My body with the thousand year old soul
Is hugged as you say “dinner’s getting cold”
