It’s been a fifty-hour week, and counting
Another two hundred miles on the old wide jeep and counting
Got a hole in the roof and a hole in the sink
What’s it gonna take to fix two leaks?
Couple hundred bucks each and counting

[Chorus]
I know, I said, one more two hours ago and
I know, I said, by this time I’d be back home, but
Here I sit and here I’ll stay
I don’t know how many cold beers it takes to wash a bad week away
One, two, three, and counting
[Verse 2]
Yeah, three of my buddies just showed up and counting
The old Braves just cost us fifty bucks and counting
I got a four beer buzz and a for sure bet my sweetheart’s ’bout to beat my ex
Four missed calls, five missed texts and counting

[Chorus]
I know, I said, one more three hours ago and
I know, I said, by this time I’d be back home, but
Here I sit and here I’ll stay
I don’t know how many cold beers it takes to wash a bad week away
Four, five, six and I’m still counting

[Bridge]
Those bottles, cans, tops, and tabs are piling up like a mountain
And counting

[Chorus]
I know, I said, one more four hours ago and
I know, I said, by this time I’d be back home, but
Here I sit and here I’ll stay
Don’t know how many cold beers it takes to wash a bad week away
Seven, eight, ten and counting

[Outro]
Whoa, I’m still counting
Think it’s twelve, man, at least a dozen
No good, thirteen, a bakers dozen
I think that’s what they call it
And counting
