[Verse 1]
Well, you're Philly's finest
You look just like the Carolinas
We both have to leave this curse behind us
And it gets lonely in the city
We had that one night last July
I used to think that, that would have me satisfied
If I'm being honest, probably could be using our time
It gets lonely in the city
When I turn back, if I must pass
With a "Hey, how you doing, you wanna grab a glass?"
Won't be the first but it might be the last
I've been trying to make peace with that

[Chorus]
We're just chasing midnight (Midnight)
Fingers in the belt loop, boots start slipping
Dancing 'round the fact that you'll be gone in a minute
It's alright (Alright)
Gotta make the most while the clock's still ticking
You'll be out the door before the birds start singing

[Post-Chorus]
Oh, yeah
Woo

[Verse 2]
We're a dead end
The hell I'll take if we're at the end
A funny one, that love affair
Oh, it's got a hold on me
And it won't last
Once the sun starts coming back
There's some beauty inside of that
And it's got a hold on me
So we dive in, skip the, "How you been?"
Pull you close, who knows if this will ever come again
Won't be the first time, might be the last
I'm finally at peace with that

Woo
She'll be gone
Ah, yeah
Yeah, she'll be gone
She'll be gone
Ooh, she'll be gone

[Chorus]
We're just chasing midnight
Fingers in the belt loop, boots start slipping
Dancing 'round the fact that you'll be gone in a minute
Fingers in the belt loop, boots start slipping
Swinging 'round the room 'til the neighbors start b!tching
(It's alright) Hey, it's alright, yeah
Gotta make the most while the clock's still ticking
You'll be out the door before the birds start singing

[Post-Chorus]
(She'll be gone)
No
She'll be gone
Gone, gone, gone, gone, gone
She'll be gone
Woo
She'll be gone
(She'll be gone)
(She'll be gone)
