[Verse 1]
We’re awake in the middle of the night
Your smile is contagious
I never want to change it
When we kiss looking at the city lights
And everything is perfect
Maybe I deserve this

[Pre-Chorus]
You’re telling me everything’s fine
Well you must be missing the signs
It’s only a matter of time

[Chorus]
You’re healing my pain
But I’ll be the problem that won’t go away (Ah-ah)
I’ll take all the blame
If one day you wake up and don’t feel the same (Ah-ah)
And you’re holding all the damage
Like it’s easy and we planned it
And I’ll never understand it either way
‘Cause I want you to stay
But I am the problem that won’t go away

[Verse 2]
It’s out of my control
Designed to be unwanted
I’m broken to the core
And my family isn’t spotless
You’re making me a promise
And I feel like it’s honest
Why can’t I just want this?

[Chorus]
Oh-oh, you’re healing my pain
But I’ll be the problem that won’t go away (Ah-ah)
I’ll take all the blame

If one day you wake up and don’t feel the same (Ah-ah)
And you’re holding all the damage
Like it’s easy and we planned it
And I’ll never understand it either way
‘Cause I want you to stay
But I am the problem that won’t go away

[Bridge]
When you’re looking at me, I swear that you’re looking at somebody
I don’t recognize, I don’t recognize
When you’re looking at me, I swear that you’re looking at somebody
I don’t recognize, I don’t recognize

[Chorus]
I’ll take all the blame
If one day you wake up
And don’t feel the same
‘Cause I want you to stay
But I am the problem
That won’t go away
