[Verse 1]
Born into the tragedy
Not sure what’s wrong with me
How could you love me
With so much underneath?
I’m not one for the sympathy
Wrap up the elegies, it’s fine
Turned down all the therapy
I’m scared of what they’ll find

[Pre-Chorus]
You’re better than the scars they traced around your heart
You picked out all the staples and the stitches fell apart
You said you’re damaged goods, a shadow where you stood
But I won’t stop at anything till

[Chorus]
You see yourself how I see you
When you’re heavening abovе me
The pedеstal, it crumbles again
Every angel falls in the end

[Verse 2]
Trauma got a hold of me
Fu*ked my brain chemistry, I’m fine
Turned down all the therapy
I’m scared of what they’ll find, find, find

[Pre-Chorus]
But you’re better than the scars they traced around your heart
You picked out all the staples and the stitches fell apart
You said you’re damaged goods, a shadow where you stood
But I won’t stop at anything till

[Chorus]
You see yourself how I see you
When you’re heavening above me

The pedestal, it crumbles again
Every angel falls in the end

[Post-Chorus]
Every angel falls in the end

[Refrain]
Say you’re scorched earth, bitter to the end
A brutalist nihilist with a skin to shed
The roots are burnt, so you’ll never get better
But the grass is always greener when you give up on yourself

[Refrain]
Say you’re scorched earth, bitter to the end
A brutalist nihilist with a skin to shed
The roots are burnt, so you’ll never get better
But the grass is always greener when you give up on yourself
