[Verse 1]
I gotta hand it to you
You’re hard to handle
Stole every bit of my moving on like a vandal
Left me in rough shape
Busted up black and blue, waiting on the hands of time
To do what they’re supposed to do ’cause

[Chorus]
Girl, what you left ’round here’s beating me up
Woulda thought by now you’da had enough, but here you come
Throwing them haymakers left and right
Won’t you show a little bit of mercy on this heart of mine?
I made this bed you ain’t sleeping in
I close my eyes, you come creeping in
I’m on the ropes, throwing in the towel
Tryna forget you, but baby, I keep on finding out
Your memory sure don’t mess around
Your memory sure don’t mess around

[Verse 2]
Yeah, girl, I’ll shoot you straight
I’ve poured some bourbon on it
If it was a sunrise, hell, I’d just pull the curtains on it
I could say it’s easy, but that’d just make me a liar
Stomping out your flame is more like putting out a wildfire

[Bridge]
Thought it was just a phase
That I was going through
I guess I underestimated getting over you ’cause

[Chorus]
Girl, what you left ’round here’s beating me up
Woulda thought by now you’da had enough, but here you come
Throwing them haymakers left and right
Won’t you show a little bit of mercy on this heart of mine?
‘Cause I made this bed you ain’t sleeping in
I close my eyes, you come creeping in
I’m on the ropes, throwing in the towel
Tryna forget you, but baby, I keep on finding out
Your memory sure don’t mess around
Your memory sure don’t mess around
