[Verse 1]
Junebug, firefly
Lightning bolt, by-and-by
‘Round the world, 900 days
Full of wonder, full of pain
Full of ocean, full of sky
Full of mountains, in the by-and-by
Collecting jasmine and Christmas cactus
Southern magnolias and grass in baskets

[Verse 2]
Well, back in town, no one’s around
As this planet Earth spins ’round and ’round
Am I out to pasture or up in the castle?
Or am I singing songs down in the chapel
With the choir or with the band?
Or am I all alone with my folded hands?

[Verse 3]
I’m up early every morning
Trying to capture morning’s glory
To bottle lightning or bottle storms
Or bottle nightmares from the night before
In the afterglow of the evening
When there was no God to beliеve in

[Verse 4]
Well, chasing dragons and chasing demons
Trying to slay thеm, trying to free them
Well, midnight, 2:00 a.m. sunrise
I best be leaving
As the birds chirp
Yeah, the birds flirt
As they bring in the new season

[Verse 5]
Well, I’m chasing money and chasing rain

Chasing the clock, chasing my pain
My air is heavy and so I wait
For my dark clouds to illuminate
In the green belt it’s just how it felt

[Verse 6]
Oh, to be a child and oh, to be alive
Oh, it makes you wonder, oh, it makes you smile
And oh, makes you sad and oh, it makes ya cry
To let the light in, another morning
Invite the mighty morning glory
Another day above the dirt
Farming songs on this planet Earth
