[Verse 1]
You stare at me like I'm brain dead
"Dr. Bad News" came with meds
Think I'm suffocating under water bad enough
Empty promises and lies are made with deeper cuts
I'm okay, unafraid
When my lungs collapse, it's overkill

[Pre-Chorus]
To whom you wrote
I hope they choke on words that broke me
And when they ghost, keep playing dead
[Chorus]
Bite my tongue instead
Instead
Instead
Let it burn the open wounds in you
Bite it instead

[Post-Chorus]
Every tragic tales you've told
Became my clarity that I've known
That feeling, something breathing under my bed
Something breathing next to my head instead

[Verse 2]
You always pick the best times
To drop every worst lines
Celebrate the scars and ones to come
Caving in like everything is breaking
One by one, gone blink of an eye

[Pre-Chorus]
To whom you wrote
I hope they choke on words that broke me
And when they ghost, keep playing dead

[Chorus]
Bite my tongue instead
Instead
Instead
Let it burn the open wounds in you
Bite it instead

[Bridge]
An empty house with mirrors show
I can't be loud when no one knows, woah

[Chorus]
Instead
Instead
Let it burn the open wounds in you
Bite it instead

[Post-Chorus]
Every tragic tales you've told
Became my clarity that I've known
That feeling, something breathing under my bed
Something breathing next to my head instead
