[Verse 1]
I’m Jesus Christ, I’m swinging
In a gallery in France
I’m the guillotine, I’m terrified
There’ll be no second chance

[Pre-Chorus]
And cowardice is prettiest in a nice dress
From high command, I feel the need to confess

[Refrain]
In the morning, in the evening

I keep trying, Lord, I’m trying
In the morning, in the evening
I keep trying, Lord, I’m trying

[Chorus]
But I’ve never known myself
But then, I’ve never claimed to know
I do this for my health
Breathing the dust of an inferno

[Verse 2]
I’m Joan of arc, I’m dying
Just waiting for your call
I’m watching The Real Housewives
And crawling up the walls

[Pre-Chorus]
This heart of mine’s a glorified abscess
In high demand, I feel the need to confess

[Refrain]
In the morning, in the evening
I keep trying, Lord, I’m trying

[Chorus]

But I’ve never been myself
But then, I’ve always seemed to know
I’m drinking to your health
Drinking the dust of an inferno

[Chorus]
I’ve never seen myself
And I hope I never know
I’m nothing but a shell
Nothing but dust, in an inferno
