Back when I read children’s books
I let my fantasies run wild
I could turn a villain good
There must something more than meets the eye

And poof! I trust fell into you
Despite warnings of your truest colors
I saw what I wanted to see
This false identity
You put on when it’s convenient for you
Exploiting my distortions

I’m a make believer
That’s a well known fact
Time I break the fever
Disappear your act, bye
To the social climber
I’ll mourn who I built up in my head
Not you, just my imaginary friend

Technically we’re both adults
Yet only of us grew up
You whisper that my music sucks
Please, take the stage, see if you’re brave enough

And poof! You’re spineless right on cu
ive my song raving reviews, “aw thanks girl
I dedicate this to you
And the death of my youth”
Won’t leave it to your imagination
My revenge will make a statement

I’m a make believer
It’s a well-known fact
Time I break the fever
Disappear your act, bye
To the social climber

I’ll mourn who I built up in my head
Not you, just my imaginary friend
How could you call yourself a friend?
Let’s not play pretend

I poured a cup of tea
Pulled out a table seat
While all my party guests insisted you were never real
I fed into your lie
Defended your disguise
But now I see right through you and I’ll host the big surprise

I was a make believer
Now I see the facts
Time I break the fever
Disappear your act, bye
To the social climber
I’ll mourn who I built up in my head
Not you, just my imaginary friend

How could you call yourself a friend?
No don’t you try to make amends
You’ll never come back from the dead
This is where it ends
