[Verse 1]
I thought love was supposed to be blind
But these days, we choose with our eyes
While we’re sitting at home and we search on our phones
For a lover, at least for tonight

[Chorus]
But I want a love like my grandparents had
Wanna turn back the time to the days
Where forever means forever, I can think of nothing better
Than to promise my love that I’ll stay

[Verse 2]
Watching friends trying to find a connection
But it’s gone just as soon as it starts
And you can’t build a fire with only desire
Yeah, wе’re more than disposable hеarts

[Chorus]
But I want a love like my grandparents had
Wanna turn back the time to the days
Where forever means forever, I can think of nothing better
Than to promise my love that I’ll stay

[Bridge]
What happened to staying power?
Or five hundred thousand hours?
That’s fifty-eight years through the smiles and the tears
But you are leaving me after one night

[Chorus]
But I want a love like my grandparents had
Wanna turn back the time to the days
Where forever means forever, I can think of nothing better
Than to promise my love that I’ll stay

[Outro]

But I want a love like my grandparents had
Wanna turn back the time to the days
Where forever means forever, I can think of nothing better
Than to promise my love that I’ll stay
