Overview
Oubliez-Moi is the 2026 studio album by French rapper Jul, one of the most commercially successful artists in modern French rap. Released through his independent label D’Or et de Platine, the project arrived alongside a major concert run at Stade de France and Marseille’s Orange Vélodrome, reinforcing Jul’s status as one of the defining figures in contemporary Francophone hip-hop.
The album continues Jul’s prolific creative output and reflects his signature balance between melodic rap, autobiographical writing, street narratives, and emotionally driven hooks. Across the project, Jul explores themes including loyalty, pressure, personal reflection, relationships, Marseille identity, and everyday survival. The production style remains rooted in the fast-paced and melodic sound associated with Southern French rap, while also incorporating rhythmic Latin influences and atmospheric electronic textures.
Musically, Oubliez-Moi maintains the artist’s recognizable formula of repetitive melodic refrains, emotionally direct songwriting, and energetic beats designed for both streaming audiences and live performance environments. The album features a largely solo tracklist, with Houari appearing as the only credited guest artist.
The rollout of the album included teaser videos presenting Jul as a mysterious “missing” figure, visually referencing Marseille culture and the artist’s longstanding connection with his hometown. The album artwork was also connected to a fan-driven creative campaign, continuing Jul’s close relationship with his audience.
Musical Style
The sound of Oubliez-Moi blends French rap with melodic trap production, Mediterranean musical influences, and emotionally charged vocal delivery. Jul’s songwriting alternates between introspective storytelling and club-oriented momentum, often using repetitive phrases and conversational flows to create memorable hooks.
Several tracks emphasize atmospheric melodies and reflective themes, while others return to the energetic street-rap style that has defined much of Jul’s catalog. The project also continues his tendency to mix autobiographical commentary with accessible choruses and highly rhythmic production structures.
