Description

The Wow! Signal is the tenth studio album by English rock band Muse. The album takes its title from the famous 1977 “Wow! signal,” a mysterious radio signal detected from space that sparked speculation about extraterrestrial intelligence. The project continues the band’s long-standing interest in science fiction, technology, and cosmic themes, combining these ideas with modern rock production and electronic elements. The album was developed throughout 2025 and 2026, following the band’s previous release Will of the People (2022).

Musical Style

The album blends alternative rock, hard rock, electronic rock, and elements of metal. Early singles from the album showcase a mix of organ-driven intros, synthesizers, heavy guitar riffs, and atmospheric production. The musical direction reflects a fusion of futuristic electronic textures with Muse’s signature dramatic rock sound, continuing their exploration of space-themed and dystopian concepts.

Release Information

The album is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026. The first single, Unravelling, was released in 2025, followed by the second single Be With You in March 2026. The album announcement was accompanied by a space-themed promotional campaign, reflecting the cosmic inspiration behind the project.
