The Mountain (Deluxe) Lyrics & Tracklist – Gorillaz Featuring Multiple Artists
Album Information
The Mountain (Deluxe) is the ninth studio album by the English virtual band Gorillaz, officially released in early 2026. The record marks a continuation of the band’s tradition of expansive global collaboration, featuring an extensive array of guest artists across genres and cultures. Recorded over several years in studios and locations around the world—including London’s Studio 13, Mumbai, New Delhi, Devon, Miami, Ashgabat, Damascus, Los Angeles and New York—the album blends diverse musical influences and languages, including English, Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, Yoruba and Russian. It was produced by Damon Albarn alongside Remi Kabaka Jr., James Ford, Samuel Egglenton and includes contributions from Argentine producer Bizarrap on select tracks.
This deluxe edition expands the standard album with a second disc of bonus material featuring additional performers and reinterpretations, adding further depth to an already multifaceted project.
Musical Style and Themes
The sound of The Mountain (Deluxe) is eclectic by design, traversing styles from alternative rock and electronic to world music and hip-hop influences. Traditional Indian instrumentation—such as sarod and bansuri—appears alongside rock, rap and experimental elements, reflecting the band’s cross-cultural recording journey and Damon Albarn’s long-standing interest in global musical traditions. Guest vocalists and instrumentalists add varied textures to the work, and posthumous appearances by influential figures offer a reflective tone that complements the album’s conceptual exploration of life, mortality and traversal of metaphorical peaks.
Release Information
The album was announced in 2025 and saw singles released ahead of the full record. While initially scheduled for later dates, the release was moved to January 15, 2026 for certain formats, with broader physical and digital distribution occurring in February and March 2026. The accompanying tour for the band spans multiple dates across the UK and Ireland in support of the album’s launch.
