Queen of Texas Lyrics & Tracklist – Solya
Album Information
Queen of Texas is the debut studio album by West Texas singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Solya. Written and recorded entirely in the Lone Star State of Texas, the project was crafted with producer Danny Reisch and a circle of Texas-based collaborators, capturing an expansive sound that drifts between warm Americana, dreamy indie rock, retro pop harmonies, and twangy textures. The album’s themes center on heartbreak, personal identity, queer experience in a conservative small town, self-discovery, and emotional resilience. Solya’s songwriting remains deeply personal, weaving atmospheric arrangements with introspective lyricism.
The album was announced in early 2026 and is scheduled for release on March 6, 2026, via the VERSION III label. It follows Solya’s independently released 2023 EP Fever Dream and 2024 EP Jewel Box, and includes several singles that previewed the full record throughout 2025. Production took place largely in Lockhart, Texas, with Solya contributing rhythm guitar, synthesizers, and piano, while Reisch added percussion and Jason Chronis contributed bass and lead guitar. The result is a cohesive work that expands Solya’s earlier bedroom pop foundations into a richer, more immersive sonic world.
The record has been supported by promotional singles including “Tell Me It’s Over,” “Silver Swan,” “Movie Star,” “19,” and “Born Wicked,” which showcase Solya’s blend of indie, psychedelic, and Americana influences and hint at the emotional breadth found across the complete tracklist.
Musical Style & Themes
Musically, Queen of Texas draws on a diverse palette, merging elements of indie rock and pop with ambient Americana and psych-tinged storytelling. The production balances lush instrumental layers with intimate vocal performances, reflecting both the vastness of the Texas landscape and the vulnerability of the album’s lyrical content. Throughout the record, listeners encounter moments of introspection, defiance, melancholy, and catharsis, tied together by Solya’s evocative vocal delivery and reflective songwriting approach.
Thematically, the album delves into personal narratives of love and loss, self-acceptance, growth, and the complexities of identity. Solya’s reflections on her upbringing, relationships, and creative journey are embedded in the music’s emotional arc, giving the record an autobiographical resonance that aligns with its evocative title.
Release Information
Queen of Texas is slated for release on March 6, 2026. Advance singles were issued throughout 2025 to build momentum ahead of the record’s full launch, and it is accompanied by Solya’s first major headline tour, the Queen of Texas Tour, which began in February 2026 ahead of the album release and extends into summer 2026 across multiple U.S. and Canadian cities, supported by backing band performances.
