[Verse 1]
He was out of his mind on the Fourth of July
And I knew that I should’ve let him go
Then he spent all our money and he thought it was funny
‘Til we came home with nothing to show

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh my God, it hurt me, that time at the derby
When I found him passed out on the floor
But I saw him last night, said he’s found the light
He’s different than he was before

[Chorus]
He’s back on the wagon
He’s mine, you can’t have him
He’s caused so much pain, but this time he’s changed
So don’t try and drag him
‘Cause we’ve got big plans
And no one understands him like me
He said he’ll fu*k it up, but we’re so in love
That ain’t gonna happen
He’s back on the wagon

[Verse 2]
Maybe I’m just naive but I truly believe
That he really means it this time
If I sounds like a broken record when I tell you that he’s better
You know that I wouldn’t lie

[Pre-Chorus]
We’re buying a house, fixing up all our problems
He’s got a new job on the way
And it might take a while, but the way that he smiles
Just melts all my troubles away

[Chorus]
He’s back on the wagon

He’s mine, you can’t have him
He’s caused so much pain, but this time he’s changed
So don’t try and drag him
‘Cause we’ve got big plans
And no one understands him like me
He said he’ll fu*k it up, but we’re so in love
That ain’t gonna happen
He’s back on the wagon

[Chorus]
He’s back on the wagon
There’s no more red flags in him
I know he’s caused so much pain, but this time he’s changed
So don’t try and drag him
‘Cause we’ve got big plans
And no one understands him like me
He said he’ll fu*k it up, but we’re so in love
That ain’t gonna happen
‘Cause he’s back on the wagon
