Ayliva, born Elif Akar on April 4, 1998, in Recklinghausen, Germany, is a German singer and musician with Turkish roots. She grew up in Recklinghausen with an older sister and a younger brother. From a young age, Ayliva was musically inclined, learning to play guitar, keyboard, and violin, and began writing her own songs at the age of ten. After completing high school, she pursued studies in philosophy and German studies at Ruhr University Bochum, aiming to become a teacher. She later switched to social work but eventually left university to focus on her music career.
Career
In October 2020, Ayliva began sharing song samples on Instagram and TikTok, with “Deine Heimfahrt” (“Your Ride Home”) being one of her first posts. Her debut single, “Deine Schuld” (“Your Fault”), was released in March 2021 under Whiteheart Records, a division of Warner Music Group. The song addresses themes of toxic relationships and reached number 16 on the German charts. Her subsequent singles, including “Wenn ich wein” (“When I Cry”) and “Schmetterlinge” (“Butterflies”), continued her chart success.
In June 2022, Ayliva opened for Alicia Keys at concerts in Berlin and Mannheim. Her debut album, “Weißes Herz” (“White Heart”), was released in July 2022, debuting at number 6 on the German charts. The album’s single “Bei Nacht” (“At Night”) peaked at number 13. In January 2023, she released “Sie weiß” (“She Knows”) featuring rapper Mero, which reached number one in Germany for two consecutive weeks.
Her second album, “Schwarzes Herz” (“Black Heart”), was released in August 2023, debuting at number one in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
