Back in the day when you found out you were stronger
Everyone just held back
And you thought I wouldn’t get it
An infusion made of poison and sheer will
You crafted a fu*king hard to swallow pill

Some toxins take their time to spread
You found that one thing with a severe effect

There was no sign of an overdose
But all I had were pills from the start
Will I fade before I can get out?
‘Cause I swallowed everything I got
And I’ll never make it out here alive
Will I fade before I can get out?

There is a limit for a chemical effect
When you feel nothing then
You have to push further
Nothing beats the endorphin rush
When you hold down others
And you finally feel superior

For real — see that astonishment
When you make them face their lack of empathy
For an insecure friend

Am I a fool or just insane

You didn’t mean to fly above all others
Still you’ve changed me forever
Your ego’s a hell of a drug

There was no sign of an overdose
But all I had were pills from the start
Will I fade before I can get out?
‘Cause I swallowed everything I got

And I’ll never make it out here alive
Will I fade before I can get out?

No sign of an overdose
But all I had were pills from the start
(Pills from the start)
‘Cause I swallowed everything I got
And I’ll never make it out here alive
(Out here alive)
All I had were pills from the start
