Oh!

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I’ll trust that all this sparkly dust
Can do what Peter claimed
Too late to lock the window
Too late to go back to sleep
It’s time to choose adventure
Think light thoughts and leap

It’s time to try defying gravity
Glide to the sky, defying gravity
And you can’t pull me down

I’m told to be a good girl
Steady as Big Ben’s chimes
“Stay mindful and demure”
It’s 1904, get with the times
Too long I’ve been afraid of
Breaking rules, going astray
But there aren’t rules when
You can simply float away

Now to the Hook: defying gravity
Oh, Nana, look! I’m defying gravity
And you can’t pull me down

Straight on till morning? Let’s go!

So if you care to find me
Look to the second star
I will indeed be darling
Free and fearless, laughing from afar
And we don’t need our shadows
And we don’t need a plan
Come, John and Michael

Let’s be young while we still can

Don’t ask how I’m defying gravity
I’m flying high, defying gravity
A bluebird in a blue nightgown
And nobody in Londontown
No disapproving, scowling frown
Is ever going to bring me down
We can flyyyyyyyy!
