[Verse 1]
I know thou wantest me to stay
I cannot deny these maddening visions of me in Calais
And I heard there is a wondrous place
Where a pawn can be a queen every blessed day

[Refrain]
I have these wicked dreams of leaving Annecy
Oh Saint Cecelia, I swear she calleth me
Shan’t make my mother proud, the thought is too obscene
To see her darling girl, I know that she shall scream
[Pre-Chorus]
Lord, what hast thou done?
Thou’rt a pink pony maid
Thou shouldst be a nun
Oh mother, I just want to run
With the mummers and clowns
‘Tis where I belong, down at the

[Chorus]
Pink Pony Inn, I shall keep on dancing at the
Pink Pony Inn, I shall keep on dancing, let them
Call it a sin, I shall keep on dancing at the
Pink Pony Inn, Pink Pony Inn

[Verse 2]
Barefoot, I spin upon the floor
Ale and mead aplenty and a sign above the door
Firelight and a boar’s head on the wall
Every night a new reminder why I left it all

[Refrain]
I thank my wicked dreams, a year from Annecy
Oh Saint Cecelia, I owe my thanks to thee
Shan’t make my mother proud, the thought is too obscene
To see her darling girl, I know that she shall scream

[Pre-Chorus]
Lord, what hast thou done?
Thou’rt a pink pony maid
Thou shouldst be a nun
Oh mother I just want to run
With the mummers and clowns
‘Tis where I belong, down at the

[Chorus]
Pink Pony Inn, I shall keep on dancing at the
Pink Pony Inn, I shall keep on dancing, let them
Call it a sin, I shall keep on dancing at the
Pink Pony Inn, Pink Pony Inn

[Bridge]
Think not, I left you all behind
Still I love my Annecy, thou’rt ever on my mind
And mother, every Sæterndæg
I can hear thy Southern lilt
Two hundred leagues away, crying

[Pre-Chorus]
Lord, what hast thou done?
Thou’rt a pink pony maid
Thou shouldst be a nun
Oh mother I just want to run
With the mummers and clowns
‘Tis where I belong, down at the

[Chorus]
Pink Pony Inn, I shall keep on dancing at the
Pink Pony Inn, I shall keep on dancing, let them
Call it a sin, I shall keep on dancing at the
Pink Pony Inn, Pink Pony Inn

[Outro]
I shall keep on dancing
I shall keep on dancing
I shall keep on dancing
I shall keep on dancing
