[Chorus]
You ain’t from where I’m from (You ain’t from where I’m from)
You ain’t from where I’m from (You ain’t from where she from)
You ain’t from where I’m from (You ain’t from where he from)
And I could tell

[Verse 1]
You ain’t from where I’m from and I could tell
What you know about pump heels and gun smells?
What you know about handle yours? ain’t no run and tell
What you know about “fu*k the police”? We ain’t scared of jail
I’m coming from a whole county, n!gga, ain’t no way around me
I been stripped and evicted ’til this music came and found me
Talking five elementaries, two middle schools, three high schools
We bouncing house to houses, meal due or the lights due, all right dude
That s*it just became my launch
Seventh grade I met God but got granny tatted on my arm
(Yeah, young n!gga really was turnt up though twelve years old with tattoos, s*it)
Fast forward Dominguez High in Compton, whooping on Downey
No allowance; take your sandwich talking ’bout what you allow me
N!gga what? N!gga please
I was creasing khakis living in the backstreets
109 in Avalon “Where you from?” they asked me
But nah for real though, westside is the best side
S*it give me chills
A long way from stealing god-mama hunnid dollar bills

[Chorus]
(Ay)
You ain’t from where I’m from
I want it (I want it)
I need it (I need it)
I’m fiending (I’m fiending)
Close my eyes, I wish for it (Wish for it)
I’m right here (I’m right here)
I’m dreaming (I’m dreaming)
Sky rockets blowing through the westside

We found love through the smoke and the fire

[Verse 2]
My first memories came from Fig and 87th
’95 baby, best friend name was Heaven
So when s*it fell like hell she was disguised as the blessing
‘Coz, granny did the dope and mama did the selling
Kissed my first girl, rode my first bike
Tied my first shoe, got in my first fight
Well all right, moved to Denker and 52nd
Guess who mom’s pregnant? Malik was such a blessing
My first lil bro and what do you know?
They get to shooting outside, moms tucked me on the floor
Big ass belly damn near smushed me
Tough times make tough people, look where it took me
Whole time a n!gga died on our corner
Got his s*it handed, tell me why his beer was still standing?

[Interlude]
Ma Yes, do you remember when they was shooting outside the, the front door and Uh huh and that man got killed, uh huh you was pregnant and you and you tackled me when you was 8 months pregnant and damn near squished me? Yes I remember, I remember… then the n!gga died like right on the porch or sumn like that He died on the corner, he died on the corner while his beard was standing up, I remember that

[Chorus]
I want it (I want it)
I need it (I need it)
I’m fiending (I’m fiending)
Close my eyes, I wish for it (Wish for it)
I’m right here (I’m right here)
I’m dreaming (I’m dreaming)
The sky rockets blowing through the westside
We found love through the smoke and the fire

[Outro]
For the wicked
